This new club was formed, in 2001,  from an amalgamation of what were arguably the two top sides in Plymouth, The College of St. Mark and St. John and City of Plymouth. The aim of this joining together is to promote and advance the game of field hockey within Devon and Cornwall whilst maintaining an air of enjoyment and pleasure.

On the playing side we are amongst the top clubs in the South Wales and  West  of England League structure, with our First XI playing in the National League Division 3. The Second XI now playing in Gerard Hockey League Premier Division 3, the Third XI in Gerard Hockey  League South West Division 1, the Fourth XI in Gerard Hockey League South Western 1,and the Fifth XI entering South Western District 2. We also field regular friendly! fixtures for a Veterans and Youth Teams at weekends and midweek. The College identity has not been  lost within the club and two sides compete in the British Universities Sports Association events during the season. We are also enter various teams into the Plymouth Indoor League, some for fun and some to win !!!!

The club is also involved in the coaching of junior hockey, from 12 years upwards, on a Thursday evening on the College facilities and in the Plymouth Hockey Development Group. Our U18 side enter the National age group competitions under the leadership of Jamie Hill and our very successful U15 team won the Devon cup in 2004 and the league in 2003 ably captained by Steven Wilson. The club has recently formed a partnership with Plymouth Juniors who run a Sunday morning club from 10-12 for boys and girls aged 6 to 13 and further details can be found in the Youth and Junior sections. At the other end of the spectrum MoPs have entered the Veterans National Cup for the first time this season and hope for a long run or is that stroll under Paddy ‘ he’s never old enough’ Porter.

On the social side of things, although players come from throughout the two counties to play, many enjoyable evenings can be spent contemplating games either at the pitch side bars or by  venturing into the City Center for a more hectic contemplation. For the 2004/5 season we hosting our visiting teams in the Lion & Lamb bar along side the pitch, where much support/abuse can be hurled at the teams still playing from the sumptuous sun lounge!!!!
